And today as I'm sitting down Indian style (how cocky of me)with my new incense burning (wink) ...it dawned on me to question ...why do people always ask, "What's WRONG?"
Why is asking what's RIGHT something we fail to consider? Maybe it's cause people are afraid to even discuss such a thing as: what is RIGHT in their lives. Perhaps it's out of not wanting to make the next person feel like they've got it all WRONG. Well FCUK that...I'm here to ask, WHAT'S RIGHT!?
I'm certain that most people wouldn't be able to conjure up an answer very quickly. But, I bet if I asked someone what the hell is WRONG, they could give me a list as long as Chilli's checklist (yea I watch her show :-p #dontjudgeme).
So why is it so easy to ask & answer "What's WRONG?" What is with all of the negative thinking?? Maybe, it's all the bullshit on the television and radio that has the majority feeling like they are lacking something. ["I aint got pretty boy fruity loopy Polo swag WAH WAH" :_(] I'm serious though...this sh!t has a lot of people walking around pouting like someone stole their damn puppy!! Why are the masses walking around with the stank face?? (Tell 'em why you mad son!) Or am I just missing something?? Perhaps I will never be able to comprehend...perhaps it's not meant for me to understand. But me being the woman that I am, I'm asking anyway. I guess you can say I'm as concerned and as nosy as that "friend" who's always asking "What's WRONG?"
Then I got'a thinking (you know how I do lol)... "well, maybe if people put a smile on their faces the question might change!!??" ... ANNNNNNT (buzzard) WRONG!
SIGH...I wonder what the world would be like if everyone focused on the positive things in their lives instead of the negative? (Yeah you got crooked teeth, but you know what...you can chew boo!!!)
What would happen if we all dropped our worries, our yearn for materials, longings for fame, greed for money?? What if we stopped complaining about our jobs that we hate oh so much?? (I feel you shawty, but at least YOU GOTTA JOB!!!)What if we no longer let the media/society control what we deem significant/important/vital to OUR lives?? What if we really put God in the place that we "swear" He is? FIRST...
(and when I say we, know that I am NOT included booboo!)
What if "we" rid ourselves of the "crabs in the basket" ni**a/slave mentality? ... OOOH how sweet THAT would be!! (But, we all know that sh!t ain't gon' happen though..."nice try...wishful thinking, but ni**a please!")
I read a quote the other day by my favorite author, Paulo Coelho and it said,
"The happier people can be, the unhappier they are."
And to me the quote makes a lot of sense..."we" are so stuck on what we could have that we forget about what we do have. We think that if we had more, then it'd make us happier; consequently, causing us to feel like we do not have enough. ("A dollar!?? This, this...this ain't enough!!?" ... "Make it Enough." - Friday)
...Oh how quickly we forget about those who have MUCH less (Haiti...Katrina victims...the millions who are unemployed and homeless... just to name a FEW)... we are so caught up on what's WRONG, that we ignore what is actually RIGHT in our lives. Perhaps it is just a lost cause... (I hope not cause I just spent like an hour on this fcuking post LOL)
Just remember...if you feel yourself about to negatively react to what you see on TV, hear on the radio, see in a magazine, see at the mall, or to what Laquitamoniquafisha and dem say (oooh that was soooo prejudice of me smh)... before you allow yourself to make that "I gotta sh!t soooooo bad, I hate chu" face, just ask yourself what's RIGHT?? ;)
